About Me – Ngahina

I’m Ngahina, the founder of Nriched Living.

For years, I found myself caught in a familiar cycle: fatigued, disconnected, and unable to relax when I finally had the chance. Like many, I tried the usual remedies—spa days, scented candles, yoga, and even dance classes (where it was kindly suggested I might like to try another activity!).

But the benefits were fleeting. I began to ask myself:
What does it take to feel truly uplifted and revitalised on a regular basis?

When I reflected on moments I felt my best, I realised they often happened walking in nature, sitting in a park, or just being outside. This sparked a curiosity:

  • What were these spaces doing to my mind and body?

  • How could I translate that same sense of wellbeing into my inner-city home and daily life?

The answer became clear: my feelings were being shaped through my sensory experiences.

A Journey of Discovery

With my background in Health Science, I delved into how sensory experiences shape emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. Science explained a lot, but not enough, so I also explored how people throughout

history and across cultures engaged their senses for wellbeing.

The findings were fascinating:

  • Our senses unite us across time, continents, and lifestyles.

  • When we focus on them more deliberately, we can reshape our wellbeing.

    This means, when we know how to consciously curate lifestyles and spaces to minimise sensory stress and fatigue, we can also create sensory experiences that improve our energy, mental clarity and unlock moments of joy.
